At a forum of the 26th conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change (cop26), frogat, deputy director and senior researcher of the environmental and social project of the Royal Institute of international studies, told Xinhua that China supports and actively participates in international multilateral cooperation in the field of climate change. China's one belt, one road initiative, for example, is very important, because all countries need to make policies to improve their environmental protection, and also need green protection in international cooperation.

Frogat said that China, the United States and the European Union have great potential for cooperation in the development and utilization of renewable energy such as wind energy and solar energy. Close cooperation among the three parties will help reduce the cost of relevant technologies in these fields and promote their global promotion.

Frogat praised China's emission reduction targets. He said that China's announcement to strive to achieve carbon peak by 2030, carbon neutralization by 2060 and vigorously implement emission reduction commitments has been widely welcomed by the international community.

He said that China has vigorously developed and applied clean energy to promote the green transformation of its economy and the export of renewable energy technologies. "In the fields of wind power generation and solar energy, the number and technical level of projects constructed in China are leading in the world."

Cop26 opened in Glasgow, UK on October 31. This conference is the first conference of the parties to the Paris agreement since it entered the implementation stage.
