Spanish government protests US proposed tariffs on some EU products

The statement also said that Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Luyisi·pulanasi will travel to Brussels next week to attend an internal meeting of the European Commission to discuss necessary and urgent response measures.
The World Trade Organization ruled on the 2nd that the United States will have the right to impose tariffs and other measures on approximately US$ 7.5 billion of EU goods and services exported to the United States each year because the European Union and some of its member states have not fully implemented the relevant rulings before the WTO dispute settlement agency. Spanish EAE business school professor Anheer·luyisi commented that the additional tariffs will eventually be paid by American consumers. Once tariffs are imposed, Spanish wine, olive oil, and cheese lovers in the United States can only afford higher prices for related products.
According to the data provided by the Spanish Food and Beverage Industry Federation, the United States is the largest export market for Spanish food and beverages outside the European Union. Spain exports more than 1.7 billion euros worth of food and beverages to the United States each year.
